I'm not sure if many of you are aware of this, but my husband has a fear of water. And this is no little fear, this is a huge and terrible fear of water. He does not enjoy being in water that is deeper than he can touch, and that actual situation probably has only happened a handful of times in his life. This is no laughing matter, as far as I am concerned. This is something he has struggled with his entire life, and I do my best to support him...while constantly prodding him to try new water-related things. And he has been just fine at avoiding all things water until I entered his life. This subject is something that needs to be broached before we go to a pool, lake, or river, with anyone who is not aware of his fear, because people tend to get stupid when water is involved. That is just a simple fact of life.
People + Water = Idiocy.
I, however, love the water. I love anything and everything to do with the water. The deeper the better, and the less chance of a dead body reaching up to grab me from the bottom. I am a fairly strong swimmer, but I also respect that others are not, and I do respect the danger that is surrounded by water.
Having said all of this, and giving you the proper information ahead of time...
...Clint went tubing. On the river. In a tube. On the river. Without his feet touching the bottom. Over some rapids. In a tube. On the river. I KNOW, RIGHT?! I am so proud of that man! We arrived at the location on Saturday afternoon, met up with our fellow tubers, grabbed our inner-tubes, threw on our newly-bought life jackets, and hit the water!
Actually...we slowly eased our way into the water. It was cold. And Clint was nervous. But after letting him get used to the idea and the water temperature, he hopped on his tube and away we went! It wasn't a very long float, but it was just enough to get his feet wet (pun intended) and he actually enjoyed himself. I know, I can hardly believe it myself! All of this makes me one heck of a happy wife!
So anyway, I think he caught the tubing bug and we are in the process of planning another tubing/floating trip this weekend...
Who says peer-pressure isn't a good thing, anyway?

LOL Good for him. :) I've never been tubing so the aquaphobic is ahead of me in that area! Crap must catch up. :)) Yay Clint!
