I need a haircut. Or, as my father would say, I need a whole bunch of them cut! HAHA! It never ceases to make me laugh. Thanks, Dad.
But seriously, I do need one. Badly. I went through this wanting-to-cut-my-hair-so-badly-it-is-all-I-think-about-and-dream-about phase a few months before the wedding...but I stuck it out for the big day. And I am glad I did, because personally, I think my hair looked amazing. But I'm over it. I am beyond over it.
It's not that I have anything against long hair...I just have a huge thing against long hair on ME. My hair has been short for the majority of my life, and I prefer it that way. I think it looks better that way. I look back at pictures of myself with long hair and cringe (except for my wedding photos, of course). Right now, my hair is about to my shoulder blades, and it hasn't been this long in nearly 5 years. Since then, it has been hacked, colored, and spiked in all sorts of fun ways...and right now with it long, I feel old. It makes me look OLD. And really, what 25 year old woman wants to look old?
I WANT HAIR FREEDOM!! I want my sassy, independent woman hair back!! I want to chop it all off, up to my ears...or shorter! I want to dye it blonde and red again! I want to be fun!
Random, but back in college, my roommate and I would always do random things to our hair when we felt we couldn't control the rest of our life. If something wasn't working out for us, or if we were stressed out really bad, we would turn to our hair and dye it, or cut it, or go get something pierced. Wait...that last one doesn't really apply, but we did that, too. And you all wonder how I ended up with 15 piercings in my body. Perhaps this drastic need to cut my hair and make a change is due to some underlying theme in my life right now?
A theme that goes something like, "ohmygod I need a job and a paycheck and Jazz on the Lawn and not so much downtime in my life?"
Mayhaps?
Anyway, so I think I'm going to cut my hair sometime soon.
