You went WHERE on your honeymoon?

So, I think I should explain a little bit about our honeymoon location. Instead of choosing a beachy, tropical location like many couples do, Clint and I decided to go to Yosemite National Park. For those of you who are unaware of this awesome natural wonder, it is located in the Central Sierra Nevadas, near the border between California and Nevada. And I highly recommend going there, even if it is just for a quick drive through the valley. AMAZING.

I had never been to Yosemite before, and it is a place that I have always wanted to visit. Clint and his family went about 2 years ago, and he RAVED about their trip...which made me want to go there even more! And while I truly love to travel, and I want to travel all across the world someday, I also believe it is important to enjoy the beauty and attractions of our own country-and in this case, our state. Another big contributing factor in our decision was that we are going to Hawaii in November with Clint's family to celebrate his parents' 30th Anniversary...so we knew we weren't missing out on a tropical vacation since we'll be going there later this year :-)

With all of that said, Clint and I are big lovers of the outdoors. We love camping, hiking, and all of that jazz. He is much more into the fishing and hunting part of the outdoors than I am (that might be an understatement), but we both enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. Despite how out of shape I am at this point in time, I REALLY do enjoy hiking (don't let Clint tell you otherwise), especially when there is a good view or a mountain lake waiting at the end of the hike. And Clint is pretty much a freak of nature with his uncanny ability to hike without breaking a sweat or breathing hard. Seriously...it's a little disturbing.

Anywho, we knew before we even got engaged that we wanted to spend our honeymoon in a rather untraditional place, and Yosemite seemed like the perfect place for us! After 10 days reveling in the beautiful views, granite cliffs, and waterfalls, we didn't want to leave...but we came home knowing that we couldn't have had a better honeymoon anywhere else!
