Oh. My. God. I. Am. Sore.
For all of you P90X-ers our there, please don't laugh at me. I am not nearly as motivated or hardcore as you. I don't have the money to buy all the DVD's and junk to start a program like that, nor do I have the money to join one of the local gyms. But I am doing the best I can with what I have available...aka my body, Katie's weights, and Katie's treadmill.
I started walking, push-ups, and crunches about a week and a half ago. I figured I could start slow and over the course of a few months, I would hopefully see results. But something changed this weekend and I got a whole new level of motivation that kicked me into exercise mode. On Monday, I started a lower body workout which pretty much kept me walking like I was a domestic violence victim all day yesterday. It consisted of crunches, push-ups, lateral squats, balance squats, glute bridges, reverse crunches, and pillar bridges. Because of this, and my inability to move the lower portion of my body, I started an upper body workout yesterday that has rendered my arms/hands/fingers/elbows/shoulders/back completely useless today. And it is the best feeling in the world! The upper body workout consisted of push-ups, tricep curls, bicep curls, lateral weights, and chest press. And, for good measure, I threw in some more crunches and reverse crunches, since that seems to be my trouble/target area.
Basically, I am very excited to have found a workout routine that works for me. It takes only 30 minutes a day (without the walk), and requires only what I have available to me. I have added jumping jacks to the walking for extra cardio on rainy/cold/crappy days, and if I can procure an old jump rope, I'd like to add that as well. Overall, I am sleeping better at night and maintaining higher energy levels throughout the day. I think this might be something I need to stick with!
