Clint and I have been married for a year and 7 months tomorrow. And in a year and 7 months, today was the first time I actually did his laundry. Does that make me a bad wife?
In my defense, we both wait a REALLY long time to do laundry, to the point where we really can't combine loads of clothes because our washer can't hold that much. That's embarrassing to admit to the entire world via the internet, but it's a sad fact of our life. We are dirty laundry hoarders.
On top of being a hoarder, I'm also very OCD about how my laundry is done. I think it started when I was in 5th or 6th grade, and since then I have always done my own laundry. Well, it's not like it was just my laundry, back then it was the whole family's, but that became one of my weekly chores because I was so particular about how my clothes were washed and dried. I think it's safe to say I was a weird kid.
Anyway, it's not like he does mine for me either, so we're pretty much even. I guess the laundry will remain one of those household chores that we don't share. Maybe someday when we have kids and I'm doing a thousand loads of laundry a week that will change, but for now I'll keep it to special occasions. After all, I am on vacation.

Well, your laundry OCD will probably stay even when you have kids :) Mine got worse, much worse after kids. I can't even be in the same room if Dennis is folding the laundry because it drives me so nuts!
ReplyDeleteCindy, that makes me feel strangely better! At least you let Dennis participate though...I'm going to have to learn how to let Clint do that sometime!
