Starting the New Year a little early

In addition to the Christmas preparations and other awesomeness the holidays inspire, I have been inspired to start my New Year's Resolution a month early. Since January 2011, I have made major changes to my diet and exercise routines, which I am very happy with. In the past four months or so, however, I let up on the exercise but have successfully maintained a healthy and moderately active lifestyle that has kept me at a plateau.

That being said, I am so close to my goal that I can't wait until after Christmas to start working out. I can't wait until after the holidays, and after I have treated myself to fudge, candy, egg nog, and numerous holiday dinners that are inevitably going to happen. I want to be able to enjoy those treats without feeling insanely guilty. I don't want to start the new year already feeling like I am behind...instead I want to get ahead. So, with all of those thoughts in mind, I have started up the 30 Day Shred workout again and am currently on Day 3.

Also, I can't walk.

Or stand up without assistance.

Or sit down without assistance.

Or laugh, smile, breath, or make any sudden movement without extensive prior planning of how it will affect my aching muscles.

Basically, it's awesome, and I am loving every minute of it. I can already feel my body getting stronger, and since I am starting this workout at a much better point than last time, I feel less negative pressure and more positive inspiration. I am closer to my goal than I was before (much, much closer) and I am lucky enough to have a work schedule that allows me the time to exercise.

I hope that once I am done with this 30 Day session, I will be at my goal. And once I am at my goal, I can return to walking or running (without the added pressure) as a way to keep myself moderately active. I will keep you all posted...I'm sure these 30 days will be up before I know it, and I am looking forward to everything between now and January 7, 2012!
