On our way up to Medford yesterday, during our perfect day together, we spent part of our time on the Interstate following a Sara Lee truck. On the back of this truck was the slogan, "Nobody Doesn't Like Sara Lee." Now, I don't know about you, but this phrase has ALWAYS bothered me. Even know, as an adult, I have to decipher the double negatives into a readable phrase that my mind will accept. So I make a slight remark to Clint about how I have never liked their slogan/jingle. And you know what he says?
"I KNOW!! ME NEITHER!! I SPEND HALF MY TIME TRYING TO JUST DECIPHER THE DAMN THING, TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE DOUBLE NEGATIVE PHRASE REALLY MEANS. WHY DON'T THEY JUST COME RIGHT OUT AND SAY IT??! EVERYONE FREAKIN' LIKES SARA LEE!"
And not even just that. He went on to add that when he was a kid, he definitely couldn't understand the double negative phrase, and thought that it said "Nobody Does It Like Sara Lee."
WHAT!? ME TOO! Like, up until I was 16 or something I really thought the slogan was "Nobody does it like Sara Lee!!" We totally ARE meant to be!
Sigh. I love him.
