I find this topic a little confusing. There are only 6 (original) Disney Princesses, according to the Disney corporation, and each of them are famous from one movie. So shouldn't this topic be "Your favorite Disney Princess" or "Your favorite Disney movie with a Princess?" Just for the record, here are the princesses I am allowed to choose from: Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Ariel, Belle, and Jasmine. In the past, I would have disputed Belle making this list, but since she became a princess AFTER falling in love with the Beast who was really a prince...I guess she makes the cut.
I had a hard time deciding which was my favorite Disney Princess because they are all so different. Hands down, my favorite movie is The Little Mermaid. But that isn't really because of Ariel. In fact, she's a little bit too much of an angsty teenager for me to really "identify" with her. Aurora was a little too deadpan, Cinderella was too people-pleasing, Jasmine was too much of a "princess," and Snow White has too annoying of a voice. Oddly enough, the only princess that I really "identified" with was Belle, who I didn't consider a Disney Princess at all.
Am I taking this too seriously?
Anyway. Given how the topic is worded, I guess I must go with The Little Mermaid. It is my favorite Disney movie of all time, and it has a princess, so I guess that fits. If you haven't seen it, you are missing out on one of the greatest animated cinematic creations in the history of Disney. This is also the movie that changed the face of Disney through the 1990s and 2000s. After this breakthrough, we were given Aladdin, 101 Dalmations, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and many, many more.
And what can I say, Ariel was pretty hot for a 16 year old Mermaid...way more attractive than the Mermaids in Harry Potter.
