Workout Updates

It has been FAR too long since I have blogged, and I don't even know where to begin! The most exciting news of my life right now...I FIT INTO MY DRESS!! A little backstory on this: When I bought my dress last July (2 days after we got engaged...ridiculous, I know) it was the only one available in the shop. Yes, I went to an outlet bridal shop to buy my dress, I highly recommend it. The only downside was, the bodice of the dress was super tight. And by super tight, I mean we could BARELY squeeze me into it. My mother and I actually agreed on a dress, took that as a sign from God, and bought it on the spot.

Fast forward to the end of January. I never really started that workout routine I had envisioned, mostly because I was student teaching and trying to graduate. Instead, I had packed on a few pounds and was not liking how I looked. And when you feel like that, doesn't trying on your wedding dress sound like a GREAT idea? Right...

I didn't really fit into it. I kind of did...but it wasn't pretty. We basically needed a shoehorn to pry me in and out of the thing. That was when I vowed to start exercising regularly...just to slim down some inches and tone up my body a bit. At that point, I had a little over 2 months until my first dress fitting (which is this weekend) and I hoped if I kept up the exercising, the dress would fit better through my waist.

Well, I tried on the dress Saturday afternoon...and it FIT. It zipped up easily through my waist!! Unfortunately (or fortunately...depending how you look at it) my chest has grown nearly a full cup size since I began lifting weights regularly to tone up my arms and chest...so the dress doesn't zip up at the top. In fact, we were thinking that the waist would need let out and the top would need taken in, but it might just end up being the opposite!

Either way, I was very proud of myself and the hard work I have continued since February. I finally feel truly comfortable in my dress and I am VERY excited to put it on again! :)
